The combos (Skills) purchased are shared in common among the primary weapons, meaning that the same combo can be done with each primary weapon. The rest of the (five, without DLC) primary weapons are not all that important/useful, and can mostly be ignored. By default, you'll be using the HF Blade through your first playthrough, and the HF Murasama Blade on your second playthrough. The primary/main weapons are the "sword" Raiden uses through his journey. Sub-weapons: throwable items (Grenades, etc.) These weapons are usually associated with the Y "heavy" attacks Secondary weapons: Pole-Arm, Sai and Pincer Blades they are acquired after defeating bosses in R01, R03, R04. Main weapons: the main sword Raiden uses with his X "light" attacks Note that although this is the same costume as the one you use in R-00, using it from R-01 onwards will not remove your customization upgrades (in R-00 you are always customization-less, and the theoretical "explanation" for this is that you use the Standard Body). Unlocked: beat R-07 on Hard/Very Hard/Revengeance, then purchase it for 20,000 BP. Special effect: makes you feel a total badass. Unlocked: beat R-00 on Very Hard or Revengeance difficulty, then purchase it for 20,000 BP. Special effects: boosts Defense by +15%, Absorption by +25% lowers Consumption by -25%. Unlocked: complete 20/20 VR Missions (any score), then purchase it for 15,000 BP. Special effects: boosts Defense by +10% lowers Strength by -15% and Absorption by -20%. Unlocked: complete 10/20 VR Missions (any score), then purchase it for 15,000 BP. Special effects: boosts Strength by +15%, Absorption by +20% lowers Defense by -15% and increases Consumption by +20%. Unlocked: complete 6/20 VR Missions (any score), then purchase it for 15,000 BP. Unlocked: complete mission R-04, then purchase it for 15,000 BP.
Unlocked: complete mission R-02, then purchase it for 20,000 BP. The Custom Body (Red), acquired by merely completing six VR Missions, is easily the best of all, and it's advisable to use it on your Revengeance playthrough (it lowers the defense a bit, but you die quickly anyway if you get hit, so you might as well make good use of its offensive boosts without caring about a lower defense). Most of the costumes are just "for fashion", but some of them (those unlocked by completing VR Missions) actually have an effect which can help on Revengeance difficulty (though the effect is not all that great anyway). From that point onwards, the Custom Body will be your only unlocked costume, while the other ones will need to be unlocked first, and then purchased by spending a certain amount of BP. In R-00 you play with the "Standard Body" costume, and from R-01 onwards you play with the Custom Body instead.

With the Title Update it's enough to barely own all the original main weapons (seven in total) and secondary weapons (three in total), in addition to the other entries of the Customization menu (Body, Wigs, Life, Fuel Cells, Skills), and therefore you won't need to really "complete" the customization. In other words, without the Title Update the achievement will pop-up in the main Customization menu when you can see a red "Complete" tag next to all the entries available, from "Body" to "Skill". However, if you do have the DLC outfits you will need to purchase them too if you don't have the Title Update, while if you have it you won't need to unlock them in-game even if you have the DLC. In case you wonder, you don't need DLC-releated equipment for these achievements.
